Reye Slams Lake Over NY3 Loss ON The Border Issue

Points to trouncing as evidence that people want results, not props, on the border

For Immediate Release: February 14, 2024

Reagan Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Beth Reye released the following statement over the crushing defeat of the Republicans in last night’s special election in New York’s 3rd Congressional district:

“What we saw last night in New York is exactly what will happen here in Arizona if Kari Lake is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. Her horribly stupid and tone-deaf stunt, standing there and throwing the most America First border bill in the trash in front of all her cameras was like a gift from God to open-borders advocate Ruben Gallego.

“Not only did Gallego never have to take a tough vote on the bill, but now House Democrats are running the table with it at the ballot box. Sometimes you really have to wonder if MAGA Republicans are trying to lose just so they can claim the election was stolen. This way Kari Lake gets her cake and eats it too while Arizona families are left with the same crisis, with the same fear, the same things Kari Lake hopes to use for her benefit in November.

“But what Kari Lake doesn’t get, is that Arizonans and Americans are just not as dumb as she thinks. They saw that when she threw the border bill in the trash, she was casually discarding the best hope we had to fix this crisis. Just for a crummy photo-op. And from New York to Arizona those, like Kari, who threw this bill in the trash are going to be the losers for assuming we don’t know who now owns the border crisis.

“Arizona needs a Senator who will work to fix the border and not just pose in front of it.”
